Sullivan's Sharpshooters attended the Maryland State YHEC Shoot on June 16th and 17th. One Senior and five Juniors made the journey. It was a long hot day with temperatures in the 90s but the kids enjoyed themselves and kept their spirits up throughout the day.  We renewed some old acquaintances and made some new ones. Competitors form Virginia and Maryland were also present for the event on the beautiful grounds of the Potomac Fish and Game Club.

Our Senior, Alex Morton took 4th on the Hunter Responsibility Test and 3rd in Shotgun.

The Junior Team consisted of Hannah Wiehe, Riley Cowl, Dan Wheeler, Mackenzie Wiehe, and Kaitlin Wheeler

Junior Kaitlin Wheeler took 1st in Muzzleloader

Junior Hannah Wiehe took 3rd in Rifle, 2nd in Muzzleloader, and 3rd in Archery

Junior Dan Wheeler took 2nd in Shotgun

Our Junior Team took 1st place overall and most  rewarding of all (at least from our coach's perspective) they were recognized for their behavior and sportsmanship by being awarded the "Team of the Year" award.

Congratulations to the other winners. The hard work and dedication of all the participants was on display for everyone to see.

Our thanks go out to all the members of the Maryland YHEC Organization, the Potomac Fish and Game Club, and all the volunteers who helped make the event a success.
